The Keystone Valley School District is one of the largest, most diverse school districts in northeastern Pennsylvania. The district spans 204 square miles and serves a population of approximately 32,000 within the towns of Tobyhanna, Pocono Twp , Pocono Summit, Long Pond, Mt Pocono, Cresco, and a small radius of East Stroudsburg.
The district was formed in 1980, The district started off with 100 square miles of the areas of Tobyhanna, Mt. Pocono, Tunkhannock, and Pocono Summit. Operating 3 Schools, Keystone Valley Intermediate School, Keystone Valley Elementary, Keystone Valley High School.
The original intermediate school opened in 1982 serving grades 4-6th Grade, then in September of 1983 the brand-new Keystone Valley High School finally opened to grades 9-12.
